To post or not to post...

A little over 3 years ago, I jumped into the business of producing an antique show.  I had no idea how it would take over my life and because of that, this blog fell by the wayside.  I'm wondering now if I should try to make time to post here once a week.  I love dogs and have the cutest one on the face of the earth, so it only makes sense.  LOL  Maybe I will...

PetTcoats for the children of Haiti

My long time family friend DeeAnn Carpenter makes beautiful coats for doggies called PetTcoats.  She is currently donating all of the proceeds from her sales to UNICIF specifically for the earthquake victims in Haiti.  I have messaged her to get more details, such as price and sizes and designs.

Chilly Dog

It's sooooo cold outside right now.  Even though our four legged friends already have fur coats, they still can get a bit chilly when going outdoors.

I started looking for doggie sweaters, and most of the ones I found locally were acrylic!  Ewwwww!  Natural fibers are always best!  Luckily Chilly Dog Sweaters are hand made following fair trade guidelines in South America, of 100% organic wool.

Parker loves her grey cable knit sweater, and her green and brown "Peace" sweater.  They both fit very nicely and keep her toasty warm, not to mention they are very stylish!  The only flaw I found is that there is no hole for a leash to go through and attach to her collar or harness.  But Parker can live with that.  These are beautiful sweaters and any dog would be proud be seen in the park wearing one.
Parker is an 18 lb Boston Terrier, and the Small fits her just perfectly.

Let's Play

Parker is getting bored talking about bedding, bowls and books.  She said she would rather PLAY!!!  We discussed the matter and she won out.  So we started searching for TOYS.  There are milllllllions of dog toys out there, and she has about half of them already.  She has a big basket right beside her bed and she loves to pull them out, one by one, and bring them to the closest human being.  Several times a day it becomes necessary to recover the scattered remnants of her playtime and return them all to the basket, only for her to pull them out once again.  She loves pulling squeakers out of soft toys and she has this one (well she actually has 3 of them) squeaky, rubber egg with a duck in it, that she LOVES.  I will have to post a photo of the egg, if she hasn't hidden them.  But for now we are searching for new, long lasting, FUN, quality toys with cool, simple designs.  (Seriously, she is sitting right beside me and the laptop, looking on.)  Check out what we found...

These cool Phony Bones by DesignGo Studio!
Recently, while watching the "Animal Planet" show "Me or the Dog", we learned that if a dog has separation anxiety, it really helps if you can distract her when you are leaving.  Giving your pup a treat to keep her occupied during your exit, makes your departure much less traumatic! Phony Bones seem like the perfect distraction when filled with yummy goodness!

They are a 100% non-toxic, no mess, bite resistant, super durable, easy to clean, long lasting, bouncy, alternative to marrow bones.  Not to mention a very cool looking design in happy colors.  They are offered in 2 sizes... 3"pink and 5.5"lime green and are $5 and $9.  Perfect for stuffing your puppy's favorite treats such as peanut butter, hard or soft dog treats, mushed banana, or wet dog food.  You can even stuff it with wet food and freeze it for long lasting enjoyment.

Parker is so excited that she just fell asleep.  Having said that...  she did make it past her usual 10a.m. morning nap time.  I guess viewing toys on the internet is not quite as fun as playing with them in real life, but I'm sure any dog would love licking the peanut butter out of a Phony Bone.

Glamour Dogs

Anthropologie is definitely one of my favorite stores!  I'm so happy that we finally got one in Greensboro this past year.  Doing a little Christmas Shopping online, I found this beautiful book of dog photography, by Catherine Ledner, an amazing photographer of people, places and animals.  I aspire to be this amazing!
